Catalina Cabrea es un ejemplo de persistencia y tenacidad lleva más de 20 años formando a personas en el arte de Karate-Do y destacándose como una Mujer Impacta en cada uno de sus pasos.

Santiago.- Este 14 de Julio, en Chile, se llevó a cabo el Torneo Internacional de Artes Marciales. Representantes de países como Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Perú, Bolivia y Chile se reunieron en la Región de Antofagasta para reconocer el trabajo que se ha realizado internacionalmente en las distintas disciplinas de este deporte. 

Durante este evento se reconoció el trabajo de diferentes Maestros de las artes marciales, entre ellos el de Catalina Cabrera, quien lleva 28 años como sensei de Karate-Do. Ella se ha desempeñado como Maestra, con uno de los títulos más honoríficos de esta disciplina. 

Desde 1981 Catalina se ha formado bajo la constancia, el equilibrio y la tenacidad que representa el Karate-Do, disciplina que busca la armonía mental y el control de los movimientos del cuerpo y deja a un lado la afición de la victoria, concentrándose en la optimización del carácter de los individuos. Más de 38 años de formación, en los cuales se ha dedicado a ayudar a otros con su conocimiento y habilidades, sobre todo a mujeres a quienes busca empoderar para que salgan de ese círculo vicioso que significa la violencia intrafamiliar. Por tal razón es una de nuestras  #MujerImpacta2018.

Ella ha expresado en diversas ocasiones que no ha sido sencillo trazar su camino: “ser mujer en una actividad dominada por hombres, no es tarea fácil”, pero esto no ha impedido que sea una de las pocas mujeres que se destaquen en este deporte, además ha desarrollado en varias ciudades del extremo norte del país clases gratuitas de defensa personal a mujeres y adultos mayores. También está acreditada por El Grupo de Operaciones Policiales Especiales (GOPE) agrupación de Comandos de Carabineros de Chile que se encarga de efectuar las operaciones policiales de alto riesgo del país.

Catalina Cabrea tiene una energía inagotable y un espíritu de servicio incansable. Ella explica que le ha costado que la gente entienda la importancia de la defensa personal y añade que con las artes marciales no se tratan de generar violencia. Expresa: “Es cierto, el Karate puede ser un arma de defensa que hay que saber utilizar. Pero esta es una disciplina que favorece el desarrollo personal y ayuda a empoderar y mejorar la autoestima. Esta fortalece la personalidad, el autocontrol y genera múltiples beneficios psicológicos y sociales”. ¡Ella es una forjadora de cambio!

Mujer Impacta está orgullosa de este reconocimiento internacional que ha recibido una de las mujeres más carismáticas, alegre, luchadoras y trabajadoras que conocemos. Personas como Catalina contrinuyen a los cambios y hacen de Chile un mejor país.
